OVERVIEW:
Take an unforgettable outdoor adventure with friends and family off the beaten path and paddle down Kenya’s longest river and one of Africa’s most famous and scenic stretches of rapids. Start by exploring mild class II rapids that leads to more challenging and fun grade V rapids on the Tana River, teeming with fantastic birdlife immersed in spectacular scenery.
If that’s not all, Ride your bike through soul stirring landscapes of the Kiambicho hills and hike along trails with a rewarding view on top.
DAY 1:
Meet your guide / driver at Alliance place in Westlands. You will be transferred to Savage Wilderness camp Sagana, 2 hours’ drive from CBD. On arrival at this beautiful river camp, you will have some refreshments and shown to your rooms. On settling in, you will set off on a biking escapade on the Kiambicho hills. A beautiful ride consisted of single tracks, main roads and jeep tracks with soul stirring landscapes providing a rewarding view at the top.
In the afternoon, Paddle down Kenya’s longest river and one of Africa’s most famous and scenic stretches of rapids. Start by exploring mild class II rapids that leads to more challenging and fun grade V rapids on the Tana River, teeming with fantastic birdlife immersed in spectacular scenery. The rafting stretch will take us back to the campsite just in time for lunch. After lunch, we will pack up and check out and head back to Nairobi.
You will finish off the day with a quiet bonfire reflecting on the day.
DAY 2:
On our fnal day at Sagana, we start the day with an 8:00 am breakfast before heading off for our hiking briefing. After which we will head off on the trails that follow the big stretch of the Tana River. You will challenge yourself on the hills and walk down to where waterfalls reside. A beautiful way to sum up our adventure.
On arriving back to camp, we will have our lunch after which we will do a debrief and depart later on.
Options of afternoon and overnight activities are available at an extra cost.
